Complete MRI Department renovation, including MRI Suite, equipment room, and control room to accommodate a new 3T MRI system. This included upgrades to electrical, mechanical, millwork, structural concrete slab, floor finishes and room finishes.

The biggest challenge, and success, on this project was coordinating the removal of the existing 3T MRI system and placement of the new 3T magnet and MRI system components.

To accomplish this, during the middle of winter in a fully occupied acute care facility (Including an adjacent interventional MRI), we had to build staging to the second floor level including a lifting gantry and staging platform to open the building envelope allowing the removal of the existing 3T magnet. Once the new 3T MRI system was hoisted and placed within the facility we then had to close up the building envelope and make good the exterior finishes and landscape.
