This project was a Lump Sum Tender with a mandatory four (4) week project schedule. The scope of work included for renovations and upgrades to the existing six (6) birthing suites and the installation of four (4) new birthing room tubs and one (1) birthing room shower. The project was phased to allow for only two (2) rooms to be renovated while the existing rooms were maintained in service. The project also was phased and coordinated with the OR suites directly below each birthing suite. The OR suites operated on a 24/7 schedule with the construction Team being able to coordinate 1 – 3 day shutdown for each OR suite affected by the renovations. Each renovation phase needed to be 100% complete prior to moving to the next phase. This project required daily scheduling, coordination and communication with the Maternity, OR and Facility Departments.
