The Red Deer Hospital NM670 project includes renovations and expansion of an existing nuclear medicine camera suite, and adjoining waiting room, control room and change rooms to accommodate a new Spec Catscan nuclear camera diagnostic system, including architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural upgrades.

 

The project is being driven by a substantial lead-time for the mechanical components, specifically an air-handling unit; this demanded a two-phased schedule. To accommodate this we provided a temporary cooling solution for the suite allowing for commissioning and training on the new modality, as well as early patient scanning. Due to access constraints of the interstitial floor where the mechanical equipment had to sit our TEAM engineered a custom air handler that could be brought up in small sections and assembled in place; this allowed for minimal down time on the system and a more serviceable unit.
